Looks and confidence
Ever heard the saying "when you look good, you feel good"? Well, I'm here to tell you it really is true!
The way we look builds our confidence. And I'm not talking about your genetic makeup. I'm talking about the way you dress and carry yourself.
Late last summer, I decided to focus more on outward appearance. Don't get me wrong, I never dressed like a slob. But I didn't spend any extra time trying to look good because most of my time was spent with my family and working to grow my business.
I have added a better diet plan and exercise regimen to my day to day activities. Losing most of my "baby weight" was my main goal but I also wanted to feel comfortable in my skin.
Since making changes, I look and feel GREAT!
Here I am wearing my African Print Heritage tee. I am wearing a medium which is snug right now but I know in a few months, it'll fit even better :-).
My oldest requested a pair of perler earrings a few weeks ago. She even told me how she wanted me to design it and I was more than happy to oblige her.
She often wears studs since I find that they are much easier to maintain and she really doesn't have a need to switch out her earrings often.
However, once I made these earrings for her, she was really very excited to wear them. The best part was how happy she was and you could see that wearing these immediately changed her mood that evening.
Speaking of...earlier this year, I decided to wear a suit to work. We are often business casual but I wanted to change things up a bit since I had been feeling a bit blah.
This was the best decision. 1. It immediately improved the way I was feeling. 2. I felt svelte. 3. I felt empowered!
While clothes can make a huge difference in how you feel, adding the right accessory can also give you a bolder and more empowered feeling.
It is no secret that my faith plays an important part in my day to day life. So of course, these earrings are the perfect way to speak my faith without even opening my mouth. How cool is that? Instant ambassador for Christ.
Speaking of accessorizing, these headbands are THE PERFECT to accessorize your locks. I love that they have a beautiful color and are so comfortable. I wear them everywhere! Even when I have my hair in a bun. It is easy and has been my go to item since I started making them.
Speaking of looking good! This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago. I had lost 10-lbs since I actively changed my diet and exercise and was feeling great.
I just introduced our first African Print adult blouse and ABSOLUTELY LOVE how nicely it pairs with my black "skinny" jeans. It is comfortable and made me feel beautiful :-).
Now, all I need is the perfect heels and BBQ event to attend and I'll be all set.
To close out the "looking and feeling good", here is one of my princess wearing our Pocahontas African Print Summer Dress. She was all about this photo session and just LOVED wearing this outfit and matching headband. So much so that she didn't want to take off the dress after the session was over. And that is perfectly OK. These dresses are made as a grow with me item so she will definitely get to wear it for a long while.
